Every time I reply to a post the Tumblr app on my phone crashes.
Unfortunate Names
The lady on this conference call is named Adeola. It’s a pretty name but unfortunate.
She has an accent, so it sounds indistinguishable from Areola.
It takes focus to address her by the right name.

Happy Bloomsday!
James Joyce’s book Ulysses was set on June 16th, 1904. His fans like to celebrate the day, which is named Bloomsday after the protagonist Leopold Bloom.
Some fans will celebrate it by taking the day off and going to book readings.
Others will walk through Dublin and watch actors reenact the book “in real time” at various places throughout the city.

A Texas Snow Day
Thunderstorms knocked out the power at work today, giving most people the rest of the day off.
I’ve got way more work than time to complete it, though, so I’m here by myself working from my laptop batteries.

Did you know cats have a band of about 120-150 rear-pointing spines (barbs, essentially) at the base of their penis?
These spines cause physical harm to the other cat’s lady parts during intercourse.
At first, I thought this was disgusting, and I even lost a little respect for my male cats.
But it turns out to be a clever feature to propagate the species.

The lighting/video don’t do them justice. They’re the coolest kids shoes I’ve ever seen.

Happy Shakespeare's Birthday!
Okay, it’s really the date of his death.
But since nobody knows his real birthday, and he was baptized on April 26th, people generally celebrate his birthday on the 23rd.
I’m disappointed that so many people recognized Hitler’s birthday on Twitter but not Shakespeare’s.
